OUR HISTORY
Skiing enthusiasts first started to come to Skyloft Resort Inc. in 1944. They came up from Toronto to Glen Major by train and then were hauled up to the hill on a tractor! The first lift was a rope tow.
In the late 1960s a group of die-hard skiers formed Skyloft Resort Inc. as a member-owned club and a new era of skiing began. Members served on the board of directors to make all club-related decisions.
Throughout the years Skyloft has grown with the times and keeps up with current times under the present ownership run by Ken Marlatt.
THE LODGE
The new Lodge was completed in 1999 and opened its doors for the first time at our Millennium Party. Skyloft Resort Inc.'s magnificent grand room with its stunning post-and-beam ceilings, stone fireplaces and a view that ranges from near-by Chalk Lake all the way across Lake Ontario captures the true spirit of a ski lodge.
The grand room offers a dining area, an adult lounge and bar with piano for those who wish to entertain. Both the dining room and lounge have satellite TV/video hook-up. There is a wheel-chair accessible washroom on the upper level, and additional washrooms on the lower level. Our Snow School, Rental Shop and Administration Offices reside on the lower level.
